Messy Christingle (23/12/24)
Another record-breaking (for us) Messy Church! 86 folks joined us to celebrate Jesus, the light of the world, with sheep biscuits, pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey, Christingle crowns, snacks, stories, songs and, of course, the Christingles themselves. We loved celebrating the message of the Christingle with you all.
Welcome Hub Christmas Lunch (18/12/24)
Wow! What a fantastic Welcome Hub Christmas celebration we had yesterday, with a delicious Christmas dinner, a visit from Father Christmas, quizzes, an epic raffle, and Christingles. It was so lovely to see the community that has developed through the Hub over the past two years, and to be joined by our Little Larks toddler families, too. Huge thanks to all the team, and especially to Monica, for her incredible catering!
Messy Pumpkins
31/10/24
Wowee! Somehow, we squeezed 75 of us (including 41 very excited children!) into the hall for Messy Church, when we thought about ourselves as pumpkins (no, really) with God’s love shining in our hearts. We made pumpkin biscuits and lanterns, decorated autumn plates, hunted for glowsticks, made lots of noise with our musical instruments, went doughnut-bobbing, and enjoyed our snacks.
If you like worship that involves lots of food, activities for all ages, and a small amount of chaos, we’d love to see you again for Breakfast Church on the first Sunday of the month at 9am in the hall.
Plus, do pop the date for our ‘Messy Christingle’ in your diaries - Monday 23 December at 2.30pm, for children and their families.
Thanks to our brilliant team
Macmillan Cancer Support @ Welcome Hub
23/9/24
A huge ‘thank you’ to Monica, Tracey and all our fabulous volunteers at the Welcome Hub for a splendid coffee morning on Monday, which raised a whopping £215 for Macmillan Cancer Support. There was a real buzz in the Sycamore Tree Centre, with loads of people from all over the community popping in for a cuppa and a delicious homemade cake.
September Breakfast Church
1/9/24
Wow! Huge thanks to Betty's Buddies for joining us at September Breakfast Church on Sunday with their brilliant puppet show to help us think about how each of us is special to God. We prayed for all our young people at the start of a new term with the annual 'blessing of the backpacks' - and enjoyed the usual yummy breakfast with bacon butties!
Why not join us at the next Breakfast Church, at 9am on Sunday 6 October at Larkfield & East Malling Methodist Church?
Picnic in the Park (aka Picnic in the Puddle)
7/7/24
The rain didn't dampen our spirits.
Huge thanks to Monica, Valerie, Alan W, Becca, Rob, Martin, Val, Liz and Marion who braved the thunderstorms on Sunday afternoon for Larkfield Community Group's 'Picnic on the Rec.' Despite the showers, we had some good conversations with people from the local community about the church and the Brigades.
Breakfast Church - Pentecost
5/5/24
We had a fab time building towers (and watching them fall!) at Breakfast Church, when we were thinking about the Tower of Babel and Pentecost and how God's Holy Spirit brings us together in all our diversity. Check out our gorgeous window artwork, representing all the things that help us feel like we 'belong.'
